In todays society there are many distinct styles and strengths of writing. Poems which are short and to the orient can be the hardest hit and the outperform at delivering a message. Dulce et Decorum Est by Wilfred Owen is iodine such metrical composition which genuinely shocked me. Unusually, the author of this poem was genuinely a soldier in the war. The main point Owen tries to experience in this poem is the sheer horror of war, which is instead shocking. In the number one-class honours degree stanza Owen describes the men and the develop they are in and through his address shows that the soldiers deplore the conditions.
